Don Bartalone has been involved in transportation and warehousing safety for over 35 years and has served on safety teams and committees for most of those years. Don spent five years as a facility manager / safety coordinator for an oil refinery in Chicagoland. For the past 10 years, Don is the lead instructor at the National Safety Education Center (one of 25 education centers allowed to teach OSHA Courses and OSHA Standards in the USA). Don teaches at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Naperville and Rockford, Illinois. He is an OSHA-Authorized General Industry and Construction Outreach Trainer. Don has published a handbook on OSHA’s Forklift Training, and trains Train the Trainer Forklift and forklift operator training onsite. Don holds OSHA’s Public Sector Safety and Health Fundamental for General Industry, National Safety Council’s Advanced Safety Certificate, Fork Lift Truck Operator, Incident Investigation, Safety Inspections, Ergonomics, Haz-Com and HAZWOPER Trainer. Don has broadened his teaching horizons to the international level – traveling to Saudi Arabia to assist in a safety development program for the world’s largest oil company.
